Having combined my interests in travel and art for many years I now offer art tours and workshops around Scotland. I was a fully qualified 'Blue Badge' Scottish Tourist Guide up until January 2021 when I decided to devote myself to my art practice full time.
The following trips are organised by the fantastic https://wildatartscotland.com/ creative tourism company:
Sense of Place – Drawing & painting in the Outer Hebrides
Dates: 20 – 29 August 2023 – fully booked, wait list only
This year’s trip is full now, but booking will open for 2024 in summer 2023.
“Nicky's guidance and tireless sharing of knowledge and history made the experience richer than I expected.
I will always look back to this trip as a breakthrough when it comes to what I want to focus on further in my artistic development.”
Mona, Norway, 2022 Sense of Place.
Next year, 2024, I’ll be leading the following trips:
11-18 May 2024 – Iona Art Experience (opens for booking in Spring 2023)
Small Ship Painting & Wildlife Cruise
Dates: 28 June – 5 July 2024 – fully booked, wait list only
25 Aug – 3 Sept 2024 – Sense of Place, Outer Hebrides (opens for booking in Summer 2023)
2021 Hebridean Wildlife Cruise
"...and it was wonderful painting with Nicky again; she’s such an inspiring teacher, with so many creative ideas!" Cynthia from Edinburgh
“A wonderful experience combining painting, wildlife watching and living on a small ship. Took me into another world for a week where I developed my painting style. Very helpful and knowledgeable tutor and crew including a first class cook.” Stewart from Glasgow
“It was a great and stimulating trip. Makes me just want to spend every day drawing, painting and being otherwise creative! “ Louise from Orkney
If you wish to arrange a private visit, you could accompany me on a tour of art historical sites or museums and galleries in any of the Scottish cities, looking for example, at the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, The Glasgow Boys or The Scottish Colourists.
